About 90 minutes from Tashkent, the Chimgan mountains are the capital's easiest escape from the heat: a cable car at Amirsoy runs year-round, hiking trails cross the Chimgan ridge in summer, and the turquoise Charvak reservoir sits in the valley below.
This works well as a single long day trip out of Tashkent, or as a first or last stop bookending a longer Silk Road itinerary — it needs no overnight stay for most visitors.
